Love Graig Wen campsite? Help to save it...
The lovely folk behind Graig Wen campsite need your help to safeguard camping on their land. Until the owners can prove to the planning authorities that campers have been staying on the lower fields since 1998, they can only open the fields for a maximum of 28 days a year. So if you've camped here any time before 2006, please drop them a line with a few specifics about your trip, and do your bit to help keep the spirit of this site alive.
To help keep the lower fields open:
Send the owners an email or signed letter (you can download a sample letter here) which includes:
- roughly when and how long you camped on Graig Wen's lower fields (year and month if possible) and how you remember this e.g. "We remember camping for a week in August 1999 because it was the year of the eclipse"
- roughly where you camped e.g. on the field leading to the estuary or one of the large fields near the house on the way to the estuary.
- whether and where you saw other tents camped on site at the same time and approximately how many
- your name and address (this will only be passed on to Snowdonia National Park)
- please email any photos of your time camping at Graig Wen
Please send your email or letter as soon as possible to: John and Sarah, Graig Wen, Arthog, Dolgellau, LL39 1BQ, email hello@graigwen.co.uk.
Thanks, campers!
