When you’ve got all the luxury trappings of a yurt and cabin at Lombard Farm, you’d think you need little else for the perfect glamping experience. Both the cabin and the grand yurt are decked out to such a magnificent calibre – all wood-floored, with oak and hand-made furnishings, and fully equipped kitchens – that you hardly need to stray from your secluded pitch within these glorious five acres of meadows.
Yet again, there is every reason to fling open your tent flaps and embrace this magical location: climb to the sundowner perch and gaze over wildflower fields tumbling to the edge of the river; Swing in the giant hammock made from fishing nets, and melt into the wood-fired hot tub. Or – if you feel like a spot of camping proper – pitch a tent, build a den or light a fire in another wild meadow.
Well versed in the camping and adventure arenas, owner David Collin has gone to great lengths to ensure guests barely bat an eyelid at the wettest, wildest Cornish weather. In the ‘The Link’, a shared barn facility, there’s under-floor heating, hotel-worthy wet rooms, a drying room and a country kitchen with a long dining table, sofa and cooking area.
