Take a trip to see Britain’s tallest free-falling waterfall. The Falls of Glomach are a 7-mile return hike from the end of the road past the campsite, so it’s only suitable for older children who can walk there and back over remote countryside. But it’s worth the trip to see the 100-metre drop. If you’d rather be on the water than just watching it, the National Trust (08444 932231; mailto:kintail@nts.org.uk) runs sea-kayaking taster days from the Morvich centre between April and October. No experience is necessary and it’s £40 for adults and £25 for children over 10.
